North Pole resident Oscar, a Automotive air-conditioning repairer, submitted his 2000 Ford Windstar to us recently. He did have his title ready to sign over and there was moderate exterior damage on the vehicle such as dings, rust, peeling clear coat, etc. All the tires and wheels were on the vehicle and inflated and his car wasn't able to start or drive. The vehicle had approximately 191,000 miles on it when he sold it. The Clunker Junker offered his $150 for it and hauled the vehicle away at no cost on Aug 26.
"Vehicle was running until yesterday. Only clicks when trying to start. May be the starter. Vehicle does have rusted frame and rocker panels. Will not pass for a sticker and not willing to put anymore money into vehicle. "
Here's what Oscar had to say about his 2000 Ford Windstar and about us:
Nope, it would crank but it wasn't firing up for whatever reason.
Nothing is taken out, the interior is in nice condition, to be fair! I took great care of the car.
The windshield has a small chip, other than that the glass and mirrors are fine.
All the rims and tires were mounted and had air, nothing was deflated or removed .
I was looking to get at least $225, but we now we're told that prices were based on scrap metal prices and includes hauling. I walked away with $150 cash for my car. Yeah it was lower than I expected, but The Clunker Junker towed it away for free so that was a plus.
"The alternator caught fire. It will be paid off in October but I cannot drive it still. Too much work for me to do. I would rather trade it in or just junk it for cash. "
"I am looking to get rid of the vehicle because I cant afford to get it fixed right now. I live in apartments and non working vehicles cant be on the property so I must get rid of it. "
"Vehicle has 127,578 miles on it. I bought it several weeks ago for my daughter's high school graduation; within 2 weeks she hydroplaned it into a highway road sign. Was told that it would cost over $4K to repair - I paid $2250 for it and put a new battery & alternator into it. Damage is to the front end: broken bumper & radiator, hood & front quarter panels. Other than that, car was in immaculate condition prior to accident, complete with all features & parts intact. Have been offered $225 already from other junk car buyers in Tacoma. I was hoping for a little better offer, preferably by a local business."
"Vehicle has one deflated front tire. Van has tool racks in the back with two front seats. I found the key but it will not turn the ignition. I have a title of the previous owner and it was signed over to me and that is where this was left. Van broke down on highway and repair shop said it may have needed a new motor. "
"It has 160000 miles on it. Runs loud and needs a jump to start. Had some recent sensors installed and few maintenance work. But in fairly decent shape just an old junk car. "
"The vehicle will not start. After two and 1/2 weeks of diagnostics work, I have been told that the engine needs to be replaced. I can not afford the $3,000.00 quoted. "
