About The Clunker Junker
Who we are
The Clunker Junker is the easiest way to sell your junk car, period. We work with hundreds of reputable car buyers in all fifty states, many of which offer free same day pick-up and cash on the spot.
We are a small, family owned and operated company and we pride ourselves on having the friendliest and most knowledgeable customer service agents in the industry. We go above and beyond to make sure you always have a positive experience with The Clunker Junker.
The Clunker Junker is owned and operated by Eric and Valerie, a husband and wife team who have been working together for over a decade. They have a strong passion for automobiles and building a strong, sustainable business that creates jobs and careers in their community.
Meet the team
Our founder Eric is a software engineer by trade with a bachelor of science in Computer Information Science from the University of Massachusetts. He single handedly built The Clunker Junker’s website from the ground up and has been evolving the website and technology into an industry leading full service software platform; I guess you could say he is our “head nerd”.
Eric is a huge gear head who grew up tuning cars, and is also a video game fanatic that spends most of his free time playing a variety of games and genres. Some of his favorite games include the Portal series, Rocket League, and The Witcher. He can also solve a Rubix Cube in 30 seconds or less!
Eric’s wife Valerie is our co-founder and the Matriarch of The Clunker Junker. Valerie is a bar certified Attorney in three states and has a bachelors degree in Legal Studies and Psychology as well as a Juris Doctorate from Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island. Val is a no-nonsense get things done powerhouse who keeps us all in check with her unique brand of honesty and directness.
Val is a fellow gear head who may love cars more than Eric. She changes her own oil, does her own brake jobs, and isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. She also loves reading and currently reads 52 books or more every year.
Jessica is Eric and Valerie's boss. She is our rock star operations manager who keeps our well oiled machine running every day, and keeps our entire team motivated, productive, and always moving forward. She is studying for her masters degree in public health while working full time, and has a collection of rescue dogs that she has saved from various situations.
The Clunker Junker loves dogs! On any given day we have at least three pups roaming the office, and others join us from time to time as well.
Enzo is the old man of the house. He is named after the great "Enzo Ferrari"; founder of the iconic automobile brand and racing team. He's a giant goofball and truly loves to be loved. His favorite place to be is at the dog park chasing after his friends and his favorite treats are "pupperonis"! Truly the sweetest, most gentle dog on the planet.
Jayna, Eric and Val’s 60lbs Siberian Husky is head supervisor at The Clunker Junker. She oversees all operations and makes sure things are running smoothly. She does so in the cutest way possible. Jayna enjoys long walks around the neighborhood, sniffing lamp posts, and car rides. She is not afraid to give a big loud howl when things aren’t going her way; she tells it like it is.
It is with a heavy heart we must update this page and share that our beloved Jayna has crossed the rainbow bridge. Jayna was 17 years old and she had a truly amazing life. She brought so much joy to us and everyone she met. We miss her a great deal and will leave her on this page in memoriam.
Renn is the newest member of The Clunker Junker Pack. She is a beautiful long haired German Shepherd Dog. The pretty ones are often crazy, and Renn is no exception. She is full of energy and love, and will not take no for an answer. She spends most of her time playing tug-of-war and fetch. You should see her collection of ropes and balls!
Jess often brings her dog Sheila, an angel sent from heaven, into the office. Sheila has limited use of her rear leg, but never lets it stop her from doing normal dog stuff. She is an inspiration to watch. She loves laying around all day, and does not appreciate Renn trying to play with her when she is tired.
