While most tourists know Colorado for its beautiful Rocky Mountains, skiing villages and chalets, the majority of Coloradans are struggling to get by just like the rest of America. At the Clunker Junker, we understand that, and we recognize that one of the main reasons why our customers choose to sell us their cars is because they need money and quickly. You might not be able to wait two weeks to receive cash or a check, which is why we aim to pick up cars in less than three business days in most cases and pay when we collect the vehicle.

Your junk car just doesn’t fit in with the beautiful scenery of places like the Garden of the Gods, Pike’s peak, or Mesa Verde. It’s time to get that rotting hunk of metal out of your driveway and free up some valuable space in your garage or driveway. If you need cash for junk cars in Colorado, The Clunker Junker has you covered with the best offers and the fastest, friendliest, and most professional service available.

We Buy Junk Cars in Colorado Fast and Free

We’re not here to nickel and dime you. We want you to be out there enjoying the Rocky Mountains, rather than driving up and down the highway looking for the best junkyard to sell your car to. Which is why we make it our mission to give you a fair price the first time around and to pick up your car free of charge within three working days, rather than making you drive it to a collection location. That’s the Clunker Junker promise, which is why so many Coloradans choose us when they want to sell their cars. Fill out the quote form on this page and sell your car in Colorado today.

Eric's Expert Take

Eric is our founder and CEO and has nearly 15 years of experience buying and selling used and junk cars in the state of Colorado. He is also a data nerd with a finger on the pulse of the cash for cars industry and salvage vehicle values.

Hello there, this is Eric from The Clunker Junker. I’ve been analyzing our most recent bids in Colorado, and I thought I’d share some insights. On average, we’re offering roughly $674 for vehicles in the region. Take compact cars such as the Toyota Corolla or Ford Fiesta; they’re averaging a bit lower at around $597. Pickup trucks, on the other hand, like the Ford F-150 or Chevy Silverado, seem to be fetching higher offers, with an average of around $900. And then, of course, we’ve got SUVs and crossovers, like Subaru Outback or Honda CR-V, floating somewhere in the middle at approximately $769.

Over at The Clunker Junker, we’ve been busy, having purchased around 13,378 vehicles recently and shelled out over nine million dollars! The vehicle we’ve seen the most in Colorado is none other than the SUV, the Jeep Grand Cherokee. While it’s known for its rugged off-road capabilities and luxurious feel, it does have a few common issues that owners deal with, like electrical problems and transmission failure. Sometimes, these repairs could cost more than the car’s worth, so it might be a wise move to consider selling it instead.

Being in the “cash for cars” business for over a decade, I’ve seen my share of market ebbs and flows. As we look at the current state in Colorado, prices seem to be maintaining a steady pace, experiencing only a tiny dip of -0.6% per month. Interestingly, we’re operating in a market that closely mirrors the one from a year ago. So if you’ve been contemplating whether or not to sell your car, now might be an opportune time while the market steadiness holds. Rest assured, I’ll continue to monitor the market fluctuation and keep you informed about the latest trends!

How to sign your Colorado car title

We have put together a simple guide and example for how to sign your Colorado title when you are selling your vehicle. If there are multiple owners listed on the title, they must all sign the title unless the names are separated with "OR".

  1. Be sure you are using the "Assignment by owner(s)" section on the top of the back side of the title. Do not sign or print in the dealer reassignment sections!
  2. Sign your name on the back of the title where indicated by "Seller(s) Signature" (see image).
Always sign in pen on the seller line, and never sign in the dealer section.
  3. Hand print your name on the back of the title, where it says "Seller's hand printed name(s)". Always include any and all middle names or initials that are used in the owner section.

  2. Obtain a Secure and Verifiable Identification for vehicles purchased after July 1st, 2006.

  4. The fee for a replacement Colorado title is $8.20. Please note, there may be a waiting period before a duplicate title can be issued.

How to get rid of an abandoned vehicle in Colorado

Getting rid of an abandoned vehicle in Colorado can be a difficult process. Unfortunately, you cannot just sell any junk car that ends up on your property if you do not own it. You'll need to follow the Colorado abandoned vehicle removal procedures. We have given a general overview of what that entails below.

You can read more about selling an abandoned vehicle in Colorado

  1. The vehicle can be removed by private tow
  2. To apply for the title, you must first attempt to locate the legal owner of the vehicle by using the 17-digit VIN number.
If no known registered owner is found, you must publish a listing in attempt to locate the owner in your local Colorado newspaper. The listing must include: make, model, color, approximate year, vehicle identification number and license plate number.
  3. If no owner or lienholder steps forward to express interest in the vehicle, you may apply for a Colorado state title.
